SUNDAY MORNING NIGHTMARE: brandnew 2-hour dj-mix by dj supermarkt

hi amigos,
took me ages to finish this exclusive dj-mix for fairtilizer, but it had to be very special because of the amount of - well - average dj-mixes around these days.
This is a full-on club-mix to tear down the dancefloor, but like all my sets all about diversity, crossing over & destroying musical boundaries plus (un)-controlled raw energy and fun!.
The mix will take you from indie-house/disco over electro, fidget-rave-punk to sheer disco hooliganism-heaven!
If you do not start bouncing to these tunes, you must be deaf... or German.. or trying to hard to be cool!?

JACK PENATE - tonight's today (extended version)

Spring is here and all these crazy uplifting pop songs arrive... and i keep dancing on tables all day... If this goes on, 2009 will be THE music year for ages!
I always liked Jack Penate's pure pop-music but never thought he was a genius! Now i have to admit I was wrong. This song is so way beyond anything since... well...Paul Simon discovered african music? Imagine a "very" british pop singer backed by (lets say..) Orange Juice, and surprisingly visited by a 20 piece african-carribean percussion streetgang high on mescal! If this doesn't get you shaking, you must be German! This is what Post Punk to me really was (and should now be) about: combining sounds of foreign cultures with pop and making people dance (and me happy).

The 12 Inch comes with 2 remixes by Mickey Moonlight and you HAVE TO WATCH the weird video (big screen, very good quality) on his website. It comes with real "Hair"-style dancing moves!

what did they put into his drinks... I want to have it too...

PHOENIX - 1901 on "Saturday Night Live"

Of course most stuff on TV all over the world is crap at the moment. But then you can watch Phoenix perform several songs Live on a saturday night in the US. That's what i call courageous... Please, German TV, wake up!

one more to watch:
PHOENIX - Lisztomania (also on saturday Night Live)

PETER VAN POEHL - Parliament

There are three songs on my mind at the moment which sound like: Spring!!!
First up there is swedish pop-weirdo Peter van Poehl with his second album "May Day". He lives in Malmö, Berlin and Paris. And he sounds a bit like Nick Drake, Simon & Garfunkel mixed with Phoenix, Marvin Gaye and some psychedelical Krauts... (well, more or less).
Once a musician in Bertrand Burgalat's band, he later (2006) released his first beautiful album "Going to where the tea trees are".
"Parliament" is the first uplifting single from "May Day", a "BIG" folk-pop-song with lots of strings and SOUL!!! Oh, and the video is actually great, too! Never forget: life is great!

(curious about the two other songs that make my day...? Easy, tiger! One each day...)
